Spring Flower Kinetic Wood Sculpture


The Spring Flower Kinetic Wood Sculpture is a complex sculpture powered by springs, weights and belts. The flower or large wheel in the upper half of the sculpture provides most of the motion. The two smaller wheels are used to wind up the kinetic sculpture. They slowly unwind as spring tension is released. The belts that connect the small wheels to the large flower transfer the power from the spring to the flower. One wind up of 18 turns will give the sculpture a 6 hour run time. This sculpture will look best on a medium to dark surface. You will need a minimum open wall space of 28" vertical and 19" horizontal. 4 of 5 Beautiful sculpture, but minor issues August 1, 2023

Well-built piece of art.  Works wonderfully.  Minor issues: The screws provided were not long enough to pass through the drywall and penetrate the wall stud.  Also, the installation instructions should have stated the piece should be aligned so the "Kinetic Wood" logo is level to the floor rather than the block.

Response from Carved Lake Art.  We feel it is necessary to use a level for proper installation which is why we have given you a place to put the level.  Most people cannot eyeball it accurately.  Glad it is working well for you.

Mounted on a 30x20 board covered with black vinyl for contrast and attached to the drywall with toggle bolts.
Full winding runs over 6 hours, but a few turns is nice for a short run.  
Watching the discs is hypnotic.  It appears to be slowing to a stop and then reverses. Very reasonable price for such an entertaining sculpture.

I purchased a kinetic sculpture from Carved Lake Art. I found it necessary to call the customer service line the following morning because I wanted to add a second sculpture to the shipping. Gratefully, I spoke to a live person at the company who immediately pulled the box and added the additional art to the shipping order. This is a great company with which to conduct business!
